43SayWhaat? April 11, 2013 at 2:05 pm I think the problem I’m having is that young straight men are not typically interested in the activities that I am interested in. I will either have to hold out to find a unicorn who enjoys/participates in theatre, art, singing, etc or I force myself to participate in a hobby that I have absolutely no interest in.

I can’t imagine myself being in a karate class, or a shooting class, or even a cooking class. I don’t have any interest in those things.

Lol, I feel ya! My interests are generally not conducive to meeting guys either. I’m starting to re-think the running as a method of meeting people because I probably have a long road of work ahead of me before I can get beyond novice level. I checked meetups and kind of felt disheartened by the M:F ratio and inactivity of a lot of groups. I even checked out local Astronomy groups, but everyone looked like they were at least 50 years old. :-/

sigh* checking out cooking classes, brb.

45SayWhaat? April 11, 2013 at 2:08 pm On that note, any ideas for meeting med school residents? :P

Good. I’m happy to hear that the pumping is giving you some relief. I was worried that you’d want to stop before the plug come out because the worse case scenario if the pump doesn’t come out is an absess that would have to be dealt with surgically.

As to when to wean Aidan, you’ve given him a lot by continuing this long. It’s really a lot longer than most would have been able to accomplish under the circumstances–work and pumping. Had you been able to put him to the breast, things would have been much easier. Aiden is at the age when nursing him is actually more convenient than bottle feeding, but pumping six or more times per day at this point is hard. Once a day may seem much less daunting later on. If it does, it certainly doesn’t hurt to continue. Babies continue to get benefits for as long as you nurse them, but obviously there is a point of diminishing returns where it won’t be worth the effort.
