The photos don’t give any non-photographic details, and when you see your photo you have the option to either ‘Report’ it and get it removed from the site, or to say ‘This Is Me’ and confirm with the person that took it that it is indeed you. McIvor goes on to say that even after confirming your photo, you’re still in control. “Even if you’re confirmed, you’re still in control of your information. You see me, and you say, ‘Fuck this guy. I’m not going to give him my information.’ I don’t know who you are. Basically, you’re in control”. It’s a neat idea – sort of like a missed connections type deal. I don’t think it would work as a large, international sort of dating service, but in the confines of a university campus type atmosphere it works. Maybe a little bit creepy, but whatever.
